Leadership

Korey Capozza, MPH, Founder and Executive Director

Korey Capozza is the founder of Global Parents for Eczema Research and the mother of a child with moderate to severe eczema. Her professional background is in public health, patient-focused technology innovation and community-based research. She has authored several peer-reviewed articles on the caregiver experience, burden of eczema, and impacts on children and families. Korey is a patient reviewer and mentor for the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute and many academic publications. She has served as a consumer representative on county, state, and federal committees, including, most recently, as a consumer representative to the Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drugs Advisory Committee of the federal Food and Drug Administration.

  • Lynita Howie

    Podcast Consultant

    Lynita produces our monthly podcast. She has been involved with GPER since 2015 and represented GPER at two “HOME for Eczema" consensus meetings. She has a background in science and is the parent of a child with moderate to severe eczema.

  • Michelle Tu

    Project Manager

    Michelle is a Project Manager who has been with GPER since 2020. Michelle manages the Global Atopic Dermatitis Scorecard Project and our Treatment Navigator for parents.

  • Christine Cutaran

    Project Manager

    Christine is a dedicated mother of two boys coping with eczema and allergies and began her journey with GPER as a volunteer in 2016. She is now an integral part of our staff as a Project Manager, spearheading our mental health programs.

  • Kara Orevillo

    Project Associate

    Kara is a pre-med student at the University of California, Irvine with hopes of becoming a Pediatric Dermatologist. As someone with eczema, she is passionate about supporting people impacted by the condition and is determined to help others with her work at GPER.

    Iona is a senior at UCLA studying Public Affairs and Global Studies. Due to her experience with eczema, Iona is passionate about increasing accessibility to eczema-related knowledge for patients and caregivers alike, while also addressing the often-overlooked mental health challenges associated with the condition.
